| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: fix uprobe pte be overwritten when expanding vma Patch series "Fix uprobe pte be overwritten when expanding vma". This patch (of 4): We encountered a BUG alert triggered by Syzkaller as follows: BUG: Bad rss-counter state mm:00000000b4a60fca type:MM_ANONPAGES val:1 And we can reproduce it with the following steps: 1. register uprobe on file at zero offset 2. mmap the file at zero offset: addr1 = mmap(NULL, 2 * 4096, PROT_NONE, MAP_PRIVATE, fd, 0); 3. mremap part of vma1 to new vma2: addr2 = mremap(addr1, 4096, 2 * 4096, MREMAP_MAYMOVE); 4. mremap back to orig addr1: mremap(addr2, 4096, 4096, MREMAP_MAYMOVE | MREMAP_FIXED, addr1); In step 3, the vma1 range [addr1, addr1 + 4096] will be remap to new vma2 with range [addr2, addr2 + 8192], and remap uprobe anon page from the vma1 to vma2, then unmap the vma1 range [addr1, addr1 + 4096]. In step 4, the vma2 range [addr2, addr2 + 4096] will be remap back to the addr range [addr1, addr1 + 4096]. Since the addr range [addr1 + 4096, addr1 + 8192] still maps the file, it will take vma_merge_new_range to expand the range, and then do uprobe_mmap in vma_complete. Since the merged vma pgoff is also zero offset, it will install uprobe anon page to the merged vma. However, the upcomming move_page_tables step, which use set_pte_at to remap the vma2 uprobe pte to the merged vma, will overwrite the newly uprobe pte in the merged vma, and lead that pte to be orphan. Since the uprobe pte will be remapped to the merged vma, we can remove the unnecessary uprobe_mmap upon merged vma. This problem was first found in linux-6.6.y and also exists in the community syzkaller: https://lore.kernel.org/all/000000000000ada39605a5e71711@google.com/T/ | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: copy_verifier_state() should copy 'loop_entry' field The bpf_verifier_state.loop_entry state should be copied by copy_verifier_state(). Otherwise, .loop_entry values from unrelated states would poison env->cur_state. Additionally, env->stack should not contain any states with .loop_entry != NULL. The states in env->stack are yet to be verified, while .loop_entry is set for states that reached an equivalent state. This means that env->cur_state->loop_entry should always be NULL after pop_stack(). See the selftest in the next commit for an example of the program that is not safe yet is accepted by verifier w/o this fix. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: prevent hang on link training fail [Why] When link training fails, the phy clock will be disabled. However, in enable_streams, it is assumed that link training succeeded and the mux selects the phy clock, causing a hang when a register write is made. [How] When enable_stream is hit, check if link training failed. If it did, fall back to the ref clock to avoid a hang and keep the system in a recoverable state. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: imx6: Fix suspend/resume support on i.MX6QDL The suspend/resume functionality is currently broken on the i.MX6QDL platform, as documented in the NXP errata (ERR005723): https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/errata/IMX6DQCE.pdf This patch addresses the issue by sharing most of the suspend/resume sequences used by other i.MX devices, while avoiding modifications to critical registers that disrupt the PCIe functionality. It targets the same problem as the following downstream commit: https://github.com/nxp-imx/linux-imx/commit/4e92355e1f79d225ea842511fcfd42b343b32995 Unlike the downstream commit, this patch also resets the connected PCIe device if possible. Without this reset, certain drivers, such as ath10k or iwlwifi, will crash on resume. The device reset is also done by the driver on other i.MX platforms, making this patch consistent with existing practices. Upon resuming, the kernel will hang and display an error. Here's an example of the error encountered with the ath10k driver: ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: Unable to change power state from D3hot to D0, device inaccessible Unhandled fault: imprecise external abort (0x1406) at 0x0106f944 Without this patch, suspend/resume will fail on i.MX6QDL devices if a PCIe device is connected. As for now, the maximal read size for kvec iter is only limited by fc->max_read. For virtio-fs, max_read is UINT_MAX, so fuse_direct_io() doesn't split the 10MB buffer. It saves the address and the size of the 10MB-sized buffer in out_args[0] of a fuse request and passes the fuse request to virtio_fs_wake_pending_and_unlock(). 4) virtio_fs_wake_pending_and_unlock() uses virtio_fs_enqueue_req() to queue the request. Because virtiofs need DMA-able address, so virtio_fs_enqueue_req() uses kmalloc() to allocate a bounce buffer for all fuse args, copies these args into the bounce buffer and passed the physical address of the bounce buffer to virtiofsd. The total length of these fuse args for the passed fuse request is about 10MB, so copy_args_to_argbuf() invokes kmalloc() with a 10MB size parameter and it triggers the warning in __alloc_pages(): if (WARN_ON_ONCE_GFP(order > MAX_PAGE_ORDER, gfp)) return NULL; 5) virtio_fs_enqueue_req() will retry the memory allocation in a kworker, but it won't help, because kmalloc() will always return NULL due to the abnormal size and finit_module() will hang forever. A feasible solution is to limit the value of max_read for virtio-fs, so the length passed to kmalloc() will be limited. However it will affect the maximal read size for normal read. And for virtio-fs write initiated from kernel, it has the similar problem but now there is no way to limit fc->max_write in kernel. So instead of limiting both the values of max_read and max_write in kernel, introducing use_pages_for_kvec_io in fuse_conn and setting it as true in virtiofs. When use_pages_for_kvec_io is enabled, fuse will use pages instead of pointer to pass the KVEC_IO data. After switching to pages for KVEC_IO data, these pages will be used for DMA through virtio-fs. If these pages are backed by vmalloc(), {flush|invalidate}_kernel_vmap_range() are necessary to flush or invalidate the cache before the DMA operation. So add two new fields in fuse_args_pages to record the base address of vmalloc area and the condition indicating whether invalidation is needed. Perform the flush in fuse_get_user_pages() for write operations and the invalidation in fuse_release_user_pages() for read operations. It may seem necessary to introduce another fie ---truncated--- | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm, slub: avoid zeroing kmalloc redzone Since commit 946fa0dbf2d8 ("mm/slub: extend redzone check to extra allocated kmalloc space than requested"), setting orig_size treats the wasted space (object_size - orig_size) as a redzone. However with init_on_free=1 we clear the full object->size, including the redzone. Additionally we clear the object metadata, including the stored orig_size, making it zero, which makes check_object() treat the whole object as a redzone. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/huge_memory: avoid PMD-size page cache if needed xarray can't support arbitrary page cache size. the largest and supported page cache size is defined as MAX_PAGECACHE_ORDER by commit 099d90642a71 ("mm/filemap: make MAX_PAGECACHE_ORDER acceptable to xarray"). | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched: fix warning in sched_setaffinity Commit 8f9ea86fdf99b added some logic to sched_setaffinity that included a WARN when a per-task affinity assignment races with a cpuset update. Specifically, we can have a race where a cpuset update results in the task affinity no longer being a subset of the cpuset. That's fine; we have a fallback to instead use the cpuset mask. However, we have a WARN set up that will trigger if the cpuset mask has no overlap at all with the requested task affinity. This shouldn't be a warning condition; its trivial to create this condition. Reproduced the warning by the following setup: - $PID inside a cpuset cgroup - another thread repeatedly switching the cpuset cpus from 1-2 to just 1 - another thread repeatedly setting the $PID affinity (via taskset) to 2 | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: EDAC/device_sysfs: Use kstrtouint() for poll_msec to prevent truncation The poll_msec sysfs store file uses simple_strtoul() which accepts an unsigned long, but the target field (poll_msec) is unsigned int. On 64-bit systems, a value > UINT_MAX is silently truncated when stored. Fix the mismatch by using kstrtouint() instead. This rejects values larger than UINT_MAX at parse time, making truncation impossible. Also add a check for value < 1 to reject the 0-delay case, which would cause the poll work to spin without delay and consume 100% CPU. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: Clear __hyp_running_vcpu when flushing the pKVM hyp vCPU flush_hyp_vcpu() copies the host vCPU context into the hyp's private vCPU on every run. ctxt_to_vcpu() expects a guest context to have a NULL __hyp_running_vcpu, which is only ever set on the host context, so that it resolves the vCPU via container_of(). While this is generally the case, flush_hyp_vcpu() copies the context verbatim and does not enforce this, so a value provided by the host is dereferenced at EL2 (host -> EL2). Fix by clearing __hyp_running_vcpu after the copy. | ||||

This emitted code was likely working fine until the introduction of 59bec00ace28 ("x86/percpu: Introduce %rip-relative addressing to PER_CPU_VAR()"): it has made the call depth accounting addressing relative to $rip, instead of being based on an absolute address. As this code exact location depends on where the trampoline lives in memory, the corresponding displacement needs to be adjusted at runtime to actually correctly find the per-cpu __x86_call_depth value, otherwise the targeted address is wrong, leading to the page fault seen above. Fix the %rip-relative displacement of the copied CALL_DEPTH_ACCOUNT instruction (from ftrace_regs_caller) by calling text_poke_apply_relocation(), as it is done for example by the x86 BPF JIT compiler through x86_call_depth_emit_accounting(). This corrects both CALL_DEPTH_ACCOUNT slots, in ftrace_caller and ftrace_regs_caller. [ bp: Massage. ] | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: pcrypt - restore callback for non-parallel fallback pcrypt installs pcrypt_aead_done() on the child AEAD request before trying to submit it through padata. If padata_do_parallel() returns -EBUSY, pcrypt falls back to calling the child AEAD directly. That fallback must not keep the padata completion callback. Otherwise an asynchronous completion runs pcrypt_aead_done() even though the request was never enrolled in padata. Restore the original request callback and callback data before calling the child AEAD directly. This keeps the fallback path aligned with a direct AEAD request while leaving the parallel path unchanged. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: errata: Mitigate TLBI errata on various Arm CPUs A number of CPUs developed by Arm suffer from errata whereby a broadcast TLBI;DSB sequence may complete before the global observation of writes which are translated by an affected TLB entry. These errata ONLY affect the completion of memory accesses which have been translated by an invalidated TLB entry, and these errata DO NOT affect the actual invalidation of TLB entries. TLB entries are removed correctly. This issue has been assigned CVE ID CVE-2025-10263. To mitigate this issue, Arm recommends that software follows any affected TLBI;DSB sequence with an additional TLBI;DSB, which will ensure that all memory write effects affected by the first TLBI have been globally observed. The additional TLBI can use any operation that is broadcast to affected CPUs, and the additional DSB can use any option that is sufficient to complete the additional TLBI. The ARM64_WORKAROUND_REPEAT_TLBI workaround is sufficient to mitigate the issue. Enable this workaround for affected CPUs, and update the silicon errata documentation accordingly. Note that due to the manner in which Arm develops IP and tracks errata, some CPUs share a common erratum number. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tap: free page on error paths in tap_get_user_xdp() tap_get_user_xdp() rejects a frame shorter than ETH_HLEN with -EINVAL, and returns -ENOMEM when build_skb() fails. Both paths jump to the err label without freeing the page that vhost_net_build_xdp() allocated for the frame. tap_sendmsg() discards the per-buffer return value and always returns 0, so vhost_tx_batch() takes the success path and never frees the page; each rejected frame in a batch leaks one page-frag chunk. Free the page on both error paths, before the skb is built. This is the tap counterpart of the same leak in tun_xdp_one(). | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip6_vti: fix incorrect tunnel matching in vti6_tnl_lookup() In vti6_tnl_lookup(), when an exact match for a tunnel fails, the code falls back to searching for wildcard tunnels: - Tunnels matching the packet's local address, with any remote address wildcard remote). - Tunnels matching the packet's remote address, with any local address (wildcard local). However, vti6 stores all these different types of tunnels in the same hash table (ip6n->tnls_r_l) prone to hash collisions. The bug is that the fallback search loops in vti6_tnl_lookup() were missing checks to ensure that the candidate tunnel actually has a wildcard address. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip6_vti: set netns_immutable on the fallback device. john1988 and Noam Rathaus reported that vti6_init_net() does not set the netns_immutable flag on the per-netns fallback tunnel device (ip6_vti0). Other similar tunnel drivers (like ip6_tunnel, sit, ip6_gre, and ip_tunnel) correctly set this flag during their fallback device initialization to prevent them from being moved to another network namespace. | ||||
