| CVE-2026-99219 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-11-04 | 4.7 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ftrace: Initialize modname and offset in print_rec() print_rec() leaves 'modname' and 'offset' uninitialized and kallsyms_lookup() only sets them on success. When the lookup fails like when a module is being loaded or unloaded, 'modname' holds a garbage value, passes the 'if (modname)' check, and is dereferenced by seq_printf(). Oops: general protection fault RIP: 0010:string+0x48/0xe0 Call Trace: vsnprintf+0x1f5/0x650 seq_printf+0x8e/0xb0 print_rec+0x6c/0xc0 t_show+0x4c/0x440 seq_read_iter+0x119/0x480 This can be triggered by reading available_filter_functions while a module is being loaded or unloaded. Initialize both variables so a failed lookup skips the module name. | ||||
| CVE-2026-86847 | 1 Redhat | 3 Enterprise Linux, Openshift, Openstack | 2026-11-03 | 6.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in DPDK lib/vhost vhost-crypto. Write-back chain cleanup can follow an uninitialized next pointer when mapping a guest descriptor fails, causing the host vhost-crypto process to hang or crash. | ||||
| CVE-2026-109619 | 4 Paloaltonetworks, Php, Redhat and 1 more | 24 Pan-os, Panorama M-200, Panorama M-300 and 21 more | 2026-11-02 | 8.1 High |
| PHP has various global state that temporarily points into request memory. In some scenarios, global state may not be correctly reset, or may be repopulated after being reset. The global state may then refer to request memory even after it has been freed. Subsequent requests may read or branch on this stale state before it is fully initialized. Multiple strategies can trigger this condition and produce remote code execution (RCE). | ||||
| CVE-2026-109618 | 4 Paloaltonetworks, Php, Redhat and 1 more | 23 Pan-os, Panorama M-200, Panorama M-300 and 20 more | 2026-11-02 | 9.8 Critical |
| PHP uses longjmp() for out-of-memory (OOM) errors to exit the current context and abort handling of the request. Some contexts may not properly account for this scenario and leave request memory in an uninitialized state before performing an allocation. The subsequent request cleanup procedure may read or branch on this memory. Multiple OOM strategies can consistently trigger this condition and lead to remote code execution (RCE). | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hpfs: fix a crash if hpfs_map_dnode_bitmap fails If hpfs_map_dnode_bitmap fails, the code would call hpfs_brelse4 on uninitialized quad buffer head, causing a crash. | ||||
| CVE-2026-63936 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: mt6359: fix unchecked return value in mt6358_read_imp In mt6358_read_imp(), the variable val_v is passed to regmap_read() but the return value is not checked. If the read fails, val_v remains uninitialized and its random stack content is subsequently reported as a measurement result. Initialize val_v to zero to ensure a predictable value is reported in case of bus failure and to prevent potential stack data leakage. This also satisfies static analyzers that might otherwise flag the variable as used uninitialized. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99166 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.9 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: rds: fix uninitialized trans dereference in CM event handler rds_rdma_cm_event_handler_cmn() assigns trans only when the RDMA device is an InfiniBand CA (RDMA_NODE_IB_CA). On any other device type, e.g. an iWARP RNIC such as siw, trans stays uninitialized, but the event switch dereferences it: unconditionally in the RDMA_CM_EVENT_CONNECT_REQUEST case via trans->cm_handle_connect(), and (with a connection context) in the ROUTE_RESOLVED and ESTABLISHED cases. An RDS listener on an iWARP device therefore crashes the kernel as soon as a connect request arrives: with CONFIG_INIT_STACK_ALL_ZERO the wild load becomes a NULL dereference at offset 0xa0 (&trans->cm_handle_connect) in the iw_cm_wq workqueue. GCC masks the bug in default builds by folding the uninitialized load into &rds_ib_transport; Clang-built kernels take the real uninitialized path and oops. The active side can land on a non-IB device too: the id that rds_ib_conn_path_connect() creates is not restricted to a node type, so rdma_resolve_addr() binds it to whichever device serves the local address, and an iWARP RNIC on the same netdev qualifies. The crash there is different: resolving a route on an iWARP id never fills in cm_id->route.path_rec, and the ROUTE_RESOLVED case writes path_rec[0].sl before it calls into the transport. The iWARP transport was dropped long ago and IB is the only transport left, so make that explicit: initialize trans to &rds_ib_transport at declaration, drop the conditional assignment, reject a connect request that arrives on a non-IB device, and drop a connection whose address resolved to one instead of resolving a route on it. The rejection is limited to RDMA_CM_EVENT_CONNECT_REQUEST on purpose: a non-zero return from the handler makes rdma_cm destroy the id the event was delivered on, which is right for the request's freshly created id but would free a connection id that RDS still owns for any other event. On the active side the id stays ic->i_cm_id and the connection's shutdown destroys it, so that case returns 0. [achender: reject only on RDMA_CM_EVENT_CONNECT_REQUEST instead of bailing out for every event on a non-IB device, so that rdma_cm does not destroy connection ids RDS still tracks; drop a connection whose address resolved to a non-IB device before a route is resolved on it; changelog adjusted] | ||||
| CVE-2026-98793 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 4.4 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: bpf: reject invalid NAT manipulation types As bpf_ct_set_nat_info() is not validating the NAT manipulation type a wrong value can be passed directly to nf_nat_setup_info(). This triggers the WARN_ON() at nf_nat_setup_info() and if panic_on_warn isn't set, then IPS_SRC_NAT_DONE is set without adding nat_bysource and conntrack cleanup tries to unlink an uninitialized hlist node. Fix this by checking that NAT manipulation type is correct before calling nf_nat_setup_info(). In addition, if the WARN_ON is hit, return NF_DROP instead of continuing with the processing to avoid similar situations in the future. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98760 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 6.1 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: tipd: fix uninitialized typec_partner_desc in tps6598x_connect() tps6598x_connect() passes a stack-allocated typec_partner_desc to typec_register_partner() after initializing only usb_pd, accessory and identity. typec_register_partner() copies attach and deattach from the descriptor into the partner. With those fields left unset, garbage function pointers may be stored and later invoked from typec_partner_link_device() when a USB device is linked to the port. Uninitialized pd_revision and usb_capability similarly leak stack data through partner sysfs. Zero-initialize the descriptor so optional callbacks remain NULL and the remaining fields are zero. | ||||
| CVE-2026-90021 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: f_midi: initialize work in f_midi_alloc() f_midi_alloc initializes free_ref to 1 and it can only be incremented when a sound card is registered via f_midi_register_card(). f_midi_register_card() is only called in f_midi_bind() which actually performs INIT_WORK. If f_midi_bind() is never run, work is not initialized and the if condition in f_midi_free becomes true, this results in a warning later in __flush_work as work->func = 0. Fix this by moving INIT_WORK from f_midi_bind() to f_midi_alloc(). | ||||
| CVE-2026-74339 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: Clear variable event pointer on read snd_seq_read() copies a queued variable-length event header to userspace before expanding the payload. Queued variable-length events use SNDRV_SEQ_EXT_CHAINED internally, and data.ext.ptr points at the first extension cell. The read side strips SNDRV_SEQ_EXT_* bits from data.ext.len before the copy, but it leaves data.ext.ptr untouched. A userspace sequencer client can therefore write a direct variable event to itself and read back the extension-cell kernel address from the returned header. Clear the temporary header pointer before copy_to_user(). The original queued event remains unchanged and is still passed to snd_seq_expand_var_event(), so payload expansion keeps using the internal chain. | ||||

| CVE-2026-43271 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md-cluster: fix NULL pointer dereference in process_metadata_update The function process_metadata_update() blindly dereferences the 'thread' pointer (acquired via rcu_dereference_protected) within the wait_event() macro. While the code comment states "daemon thread must exist", there is a valid race condition window during the MD array startup sequence (md_run): 1. bitmap_load() is called, which invokes md_cluster_ops->join(). 2. join() starts the "cluster_recv" thread (recv_daemon). 3. At this point, recv_daemon is active and processing messages. 4. However, mddev->thread (the main MD thread) is not initialized until later in md_run(). If a METADATA_UPDATED message is received from a remote node during this specific window, process_metadata_update() will be called while mddev->thread is still NULL, leading to a kernel panic. To fix this, we must validate the 'thread' pointer. If it is NULL, we release the held lock (no_new_dev_lockres) and return early, safely ignoring the update request as the array is not yet fully ready to process it. | ||||
| CVE-2026-43036 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-30 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: use skb_header_pointer() for TCPv4 GSO frag_off check Syzbot reported a KMSAN uninit-value warning in gso_features_check() called from netif_skb_features() [1]. gso_features_check() reads iph->frag_off to decide whether to clear mangleid_features. Accessing the IPv4 header via ip_hdr()/inner_ip_hdr() can rely on skb header offsets that are not always safe for direct dereference on packets injected from PF_PACKET paths. Use skb_header_pointer() for the TCPv4 frag_off check so the header read is robust whether data is already linear or needs copying.
