CVE-2025-38428 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-23 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: ims-pcu - check record size in ims_pcu_flash_firmware() The "len" variable comes from the firmware and we generally do trust firmware, but it's always better to double check. If the "len" is too large it could result in memory corruption when we do "memcpy(fragment->data, rec->data, len);"

CVE-2024-38588 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-23 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ftrace: Fix possible use-after-free issue in ftrace_location() KASAN reports a bug: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in ftrace_location+0x90/0x120 Read of size 8 at addr ffff888141d40010 by task insmod/424 CPU: 8 PID: 424 Comm: insmod Tainted: G W 6.9.0-rc2+ [...] Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x68/0xa0 print_report+0xcf/0x610 kasan_report+0xb5/0xe0 ftrace_location+0x90/0x120 register_kprobe+0x14b/0xa40 kprobe_init+0x2d/0xff0 [kprobe_example] do_one_initcall+0x8f/0x2d0 do_init_module+0x13a/0x3c0 load_module+0x3082/0x33d0 init_module_from_file+0xd2/0x130 __x64_sys_finit_module+0x306/0x440 do_syscall_64+0x68/0x140 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x71/0x79 The root cause is that, in lookup_rec(), ftrace record of some address is being searched in ftrace pages of some module, but those ftrace pages at the same time is being freed in ftrace_release_mod() as the corresponding module is being deleted: CPU1 | CPU2 register_kprobes() { | delete_module() { check_kprobe_address_safe() { | arch_check_ftrace_location() { | ftrace_location() { | lookup_rec() // USE! | ftrace_release_mod() // Free! To fix this issue: 1. Hold rcu lock as accessing ftrace pages in ftrace_location_range(); 2. Use ftrace_location_range() instead of lookup_rec() in ftrace_location(); 3. Call synchronize_rcu() before freeing any ftrace pages both in ftrace_process_locs()/ftrace_release_mod()/ftrace_free_mem().
CVE-2024-26955 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-23 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: prevent kernel bug at submit_bh_wbc() Fix a bug where nilfs_get_block() returns a successful status when searching and inserting the specified block both fail inconsistently. If this inconsistent behavior is not due to a previously fixed bug, then an unexpected race is occurring, so return a temporary error -EAGAIN instead. This prevents callers such as __block_write_begin_int() from requesting a read into a buffer that is not mapped, which would cause the BUG_ON check for the BH_Mapped flag in submit_bh_wbc() to fail.
CVE-2024-26956 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix failure to detect DAT corruption in btree and direct mappings Patch series "nilfs2: fix kernel bug at submit_bh_wbc()". This resolves a kernel BUG reported by syzbot. Since there are two flaws involved, I've made each one a separate patch. The first patch alone resolves the syzbot-reported bug, but I think both fixes should be sent to stable, so I've tagged them as such. This patch (of 2): Syzbot has reported a kernel bug in submit_bh_wbc() when writing file data to a nilfs2 file system whose metadata is corrupted. There are two flaws involved in this issue. The first flaw is that when nilfs_get_block() locates a data block using btree or direct mapping, if the disk address translation routine nilfs_dat_translate() fails with internal code -ENOENT due to DAT metadata corruption, it can be passed back to nilfs_get_block(). This causes nilfs_get_block() to misidentify an existing block as non-existent, causing both data block lookup and insertion to fail inconsistently. The second flaw is that nilfs_get_block() returns a successful status in this inconsistent state. This causes the caller __block_write_begin_int() or others to request a read even though the buffer is not mapped, resulting in a BUG_ON check for the BH_Mapped flag in submit_bh_wbc() failing. This fixes the first issue by changing the return value to code -EINVAL when a conversion using DAT fails with code -ENOENT, avoiding the conflicting condition that leads to the kernel bug described above. Here, code -EINVAL indicates that metadata corruption was detected during the block lookup, which will be properly handled as a file system error and converted to -EIO when passing through the nilfs2 bmap layer.

CVE-2024-27001 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel 2025-12-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: comedi: vmk80xx: fix incomplete endpoint checking While vmk80xx does have endpoint checking implemented, some things can fall through the cracks. Depending on the hardware model, URBs can have either bulk or interrupt type, and current version of vmk80xx_find_usb_endpoints() function does not take that fully into account. While this warning does not seem to be too harmful, at the very least it will crash systems with 'panic_on_warn' set on them. Fix the issue found by Syzkaller [1] by somewhat simplifying the endpoint checking process with usb_find_common_endpoints() and ensuring that only expected endpoint types are present. This patch has not been tested on real hardware. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: dvb-frontends: avoid stack overflow warnings with clang A previous patch worked around a KASAN issue in stv0367, now a similar problem showed up with clang: drivers/media/dvb-frontends/stv0367.c:1222:12: error: stack frame size (3624) exceeds limit (2048) in 'stv0367ter_set_frontend' [-Werror,-Wframe-larger-than] 1214 | static int stv0367ter_set_frontend(struct dvb_frontend *fe) Rework the stv0367_writereg() function to be simpler and mark both register access functions as noinline_for_stack so the temporary i2c_msg structures do not get duplicated on the stack when KASAN_STACK is enabled.
CVE-2025-38448 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-22 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: u_serial: Fix race condition in TTY wakeup A race condition occurs when gs_start_io() calls either gs_start_rx() or gs_start_tx(), as those functions briefly drop the port_lock for usb_ep_queue(). This allows gs_close() and gserial_disconnect() to clear port.tty and port_usb, respectively. Use the null-safe TTY Port helper function to wake up TTY. Example CPU1: CPU2: gserial_connect() // lock gs_close() // await lock gs_start_rx() // unlock usb_ep_queue() gs_close() // lock, reset port.tty and unlock gs_start_rx() // lock tty_wakeup() // NPE
CVE-2025-38456 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-22 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipmi:msghandler: Fix potential memory corruption in ipmi_create_user() The "intf" list iterator is an invalid pointer if the correct "intf->intf_num" is not found. Calling atomic_dec(&intf->nr_users) on and invalid pointer will lead to memory corruption. We don't really need to call atomic_dec() if we haven't called atomic_add_return() so update the if (intf->in_shutdown) path as well.
CVE-2025-38467 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2025-12-22 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/exynos: exynos7_drm_decon: add vblank check in IRQ handling If there's support for another console device (such as a TTY serial), the kernel occasionally panics during boot. The panic message and a relevant snippet of the call stack is as follows: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 000000000000000 Call trace: drm_crtc_handle_vblank+0x10/0x30 (P) decon_irq_handler+0x88/0xb4 [...] Otherwise, the panics don't happen. This indicates that it's some sort of race condition. Add a check to validate if the drm device can handle vblanks before calling drm_crtc_handle_vblank() to avoid this.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: Fix null-ptr-deref in l2cap_sock_resume_cb() syzbot reported null-ptr-deref in l2cap_sock_resume_cb(). [0] l2cap_sock_resume_cb() has a similar problem that was fixed by commit 1bff51ea59a9 ("Bluetooth: fix use-after-free error in lock_sock_nested()"). Since both l2cap_sock_kill() and l2cap_sock_resume_cb() are executed under l2cap_sock_resume_cb(), we can avoid the issue simply by checking if chan->data is NULL. Let's not access to the killed socket in l2cap_sock_resume_cb(). The issue arose was because the variable 'adxl_component_count' (inside skx_edac_common), which counts the ADXL components, was not reset. During the reloading of i10nm_edac, the count was incremented by the actual number of ADXL components again, resulting in a count that was double the real number of ADXL components. This led to an out-of-bounds reference to the ADXL component array, causing the general protection fault above. Fix this issue by resetting the 'adxl_component_count' in adxl_put(), which is called during the unloading of {skx,i10nm}_edac.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: aoe: clean device rq_list in aoedev_downdev() An aoe device's rq_list contains accepted block requests that are waiting to be transmitted to the aoe target. This queue was added as part of the conversion to blk_mq.
