CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: macb: Use dev_consume_skb_any() to free TX SKBs
The napi_consume_skb() function is not intended to be called in an IRQ
disabled context. However, after commit 6bc8a5098bf4 ("net: macb: Fix
tx_ptr_lock locking"), the freeing of TX SKBs is performed with IRQs
disabled. To resolve the following call trace, use dev_consume_skb_any()
for freeing TX SKBs:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix a UAF issue in bpf_trampoline_link_cgroup_shim
The root cause of this bug is that when 'bpf_link_put' reduces the
refcount of 'shim_link->link.link' to zero, the resource is considered
released but may still be referenced via 'tr->progs_hlist' in
'cgroup_shim_find'. The actual cleanup of 'tr->progs_hlist' in
'bpf_shim_tramp_link_release' is deferred. During this window, another
process can cause a use-after-free via 'bpf_trampoline_link_cgroup_shim'.
Based on Martin KaFai Lau's suggestions, I have created a simple patch.
To fix this:
Add an atomic non-zero check in 'bpf_trampoline_link_cgroup_shim'.
Only increment the refcount if it is not already zero.
Testing:
I verified the fix by adding a delay in
'bpf_shim_tramp_link_release' to make the bug easier to trigger:
static void bpf_shim_tramp_link_release(struct bpf_link *link)
{
/* ... */
if (!shim_link->trampoline)
return;
+ msleep(100);
WARN_ON_ONCE(bpf_trampoline_unlink_prog(&shim_link->link,
shim_link->trampoline, NULL));
bpf_trampoline_put(shim_link->trampoline);
}
Before the patch, running a PoC easily reproduced the crash(almost 100%)
with a call trace similar to KaiyanM's report.
After the patch, the bug no longer occurs even after millions of
iterations. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: libertas: fix use-after-free in lbs_free_adapter()
The lbs_free_adapter() function uses timer_delete() (non-synchronous)
for both command_timer and tx_lockup_timer before the structure is
freed. This is incorrect because timer_delete() does not wait for
any running timer callback to complete.
If a timer callback is executing when lbs_free_adapter() is called,
the callback will access freed memory since lbs_cfg_free() frees the
containing structure immediately after lbs_free_adapter() returns.
Both timer callbacks (lbs_cmd_timeout_handler and lbs_tx_lockup_handler)
access priv->driver_lock, priv->cur_cmd, priv->dev, and other fields,
which would all be use-after-free violations.
Use timer_delete_sync() instead to ensure any running timer callback
has completed before returning.
This bug was introduced in commit 8f641d93c38a ("libertas: detect TX
lockups and reset hardware") where del_timer() was used instead of
del_timer_sync() in the cleanup path. The command_timer has had the
same issue since the driver was first written. |

padata: fix UAF in padata_reorder

process_one_work+0x2ec/0x5a0
If 'mdelay(10)' is added before calling 'padata_find_next' in the
'padata_reorder' function, this issue could be reproduced easily with
ltp test (pcrypt_aead01).
This can be explained as bellow:
pcrypt_aead_encrypt
...
padata_do_parallel
refcount_inc(&pd->refcnt); // add refcnt
...
padata_do_serial
padata_reorder // pd
while (1) {
padata_find_next(pd, true); // using pd
queue_work_on
...
padata_serial_worker crypto_del_alg
padata_put_pd_cnt // sub refcnt
padata_free_shell
padata_put_pd(ps->pd);
// pd is freed
// loop again, but pd is freed
// call padata_find_next, UAF
}
In the padata_reorder function, when it loops in 'while', if the alg is
deleted, the refcnt may be decreased to 0 before entering
'padata_find_next', which leads to UAF.
As mentioned in [1], do_serial is supposed to be called with BHs disabled
and always happen under RCU protection, to address this issue, add
synchronize_rcu() in 'padata_free_shell' wait for all _do_serial calls
to finish.

| Use-after-free in the JavaScript Engine: JIT component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158, Firefox ESR 115.43, Firefox ESR 153.5, Thunderbird 158, and Thunderbird 153.5. |
| The AVDTP signalling layer arms a 6-second command timeout (AVDTP_TIMEOUT) in avdtp_send_cmd() whenever the local device issues an AVDTP request. Every response handler in subsys/bluetooth/host/classic/avdtp.c cancels session->timeout_work before clearing the pending request, but bt_avdtp_l2cap_disconnected() only cleared session->req and left the delayable work armed. The struct bt_avdtp session is the first member of struct bt_a2dp, whose instances live in a static per-connection array, and a2dp_get_connection() in subsys/bluetooth/host/classic/a2dp.c wipes a slot with memset() as soon as session->br_chan.chan.conn is NULL — which the L2CAP layer arranges immediately after the disconnect callback returns.
A remote Bluetooth BR/EDR peer triggers the condition by opening the AVDTP signalling channel, letting the local application issue an AVDTP procedure (the standard A2DP flow issues bt_a2dp_discover() from the connected callback), then tearing the signalling channel down without responding and re-opening it within the remaining timeout window. The reconnect reaches a2dp_accept() → a2dp_get_connection(), which zeroes the whole struct bt_a2dp while the work item's struct _timeout is still linked into the kernel's global timeout list. Both the disconnect and the reconnect instants are chosen by the attacker, so no race has to be won; an encrypted BR/EDR link is required, and CONFIG_BT_A2DP (experimental) must be enabled.
With the default CONFIG_TIMEOUT_BACKEND_DLIST backend the kernel decides a timeout is inactive by testing whether its list node is linked, so after the memset() the kernel treats a node that is still on the global timeout list as free: the announce path pops a node whose links and handler pointer are NULL, and the next bt_work_reschedule() on the recycled session re-inserts the same node into a list that already contains it. The consequence is corruption of the single kernel data structure every timer, timeslice and sleep depends on — writes through zeroed or stale list pointers and a NULL handler dispatch — producing a system-wide crash or hang rather than a fault confined to the A2DP session.
The fix cancels session->timeout_work at the top of bt_avdtp_l2cap_disconnected() and moves k_work_init_delayable() from avdtp_send_cmd() to the session-establishment paths bt_avdtp_connect() and bt_avdtp_l2cap_accept(), so the work item is always initialized before a disconnect callback can run. |

| Aegisub is a cross-platform advanced subtitle editor. From 3.2.0 to 3.4.2, Aegisub automatically loads Automation scripts referenced by `Automation Scripts` metadata in `ASS` subtitle projects without asking whether the user trusts the scripts or their authors. An attacker can distribute a crafted `ASS` file together with a referenced malicious Automation script, and opening the `AS` file executes arbitrary code with the privileges of the Aegisub process. From 3.4.0 to 3.4.2, inconsistent handling of embedded `NUL` characters between extension validation and filesystem operations additionally allows a crafted `ASS/Lua` polyglot to reference and execute itself as a single-file variant. The vulnerability is fixed in Aegisub 3.5.0. |

| FreeRDP 2.1.0 before 3.32.0 contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the static rdpsnd channel disconnect path, which frees audio formats and device without joining play_thread. A malicious RDP server can disconnect while asynchronous Wave2 playback processes queued PDUs, causing the client to read freed heap memory and crash. |
| Gitea Actions decided whether a fork pull request run needed approval based on the user who triggered the event rather than the pull request author. For `pull_request` activity triggered by a maintainer during ordinary triage, such as adding a label, the run was created without requiring approval, while the workflow definition was still taken from the fork head. Where Actions is enabled and a matching runner is registered, fork-controlled workflow code could run on the base repository's runners without an explicit approval. |
