CVE-2024-57728 1 Simple-help 1 Simplehelp 2026-04-25 7.2 High
SimpleHelp remote support software v5.5.7 and before allows admin users to upload arbitrary files anywhere on the file system by uploading a crafted zip file (i.e. zip slip). This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code on the host in the context of the SimpleHelp server user.
CVE-2026-35359 1 Uutils 1 Coreutils 2026-04-24 4.7 Medium
A Time-of-Check to Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) vulnerability in the cp utility of uutils coreutils allows an attacker to bypass no-dereference intent. The utility checks if a source path is a symbolic link using path-based metadata but subsequently opens it without the O_NOFOLLOW flag. An attacker with concurrent write access can swap a regular file for a symbolic link during this window, causing a privileged cp process to copy the contents of arbitrary sensitive files into a destination controlled by the attacker.
CVE-2026-34078 1 Flatpak 1 Flatpak 2026-04-24 10.0 Critical
Flatpak is a Linux application sandboxing and distribution framework. Prior to 1.16.4, the Flatpak portal accepts paths in the sandbox-expose options which can be app-controlled symlinks pointing at arbitrary paths. Flatpak run mounts the resolved host path in the sandbox. This gives apps access to all host files and can be used as a primitive to gain code execution in the host context. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.16.4.
CVE-2026-32212 1 Microsoft 30 Windows 10 1607, Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 21h2 and 27 more 2026-04-24 5.5 Medium
Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Universal Plug and Play (upnp.dll) allows an authorized attacker to disclose information locally.
CVE-2026-40931 1 Node-modules 1 Compressing 2026-04-23 8.4 High
Compressing is a compressing and uncompressing lib for node. Prior to 2.1.1 and 1.10.5, the patch for CVE-2026-24884 relies on a purely logical string validation within the isPathWithinParent utility. This check verifies if a resolved path string starts with the destination directory string but fails to account for the actual filesystem state. By exploiting this "Logical vs. Physical" divergence, an attacker can bypass the security check using a Directory Poisoning technique (pre-existing symbolic links). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.1 and 1.10.5.
CVE-2009-1962 2 Debian, Xfig 2 Debian Linux, Xfig 2026-04-23 N/A
Xfig, possibly 3.2.5, allows local users to read and write arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the (1) xfig-eps[PID], (2) xfig-pic[PID].pix, (3) xfig-pic[PID].err, (4) xfig-pcx[PID].pix, (5) xfig-xfigrc[PID], (6) xfig[PID], (7) xfig-print[PID], (8) xfig-export[PID].err, (9) xfig-batch[PID], (10) xfig-exp[PID], or (11) xfig-spell.[PID] temporary files, where [PID] is a process ID.
CVE-2007-1027 1 Ibm 1 Db2 2026-04-23 N/A
Certain setuid DB2 binaries in IBM DB2 before 9 Fix Pack 2 for Linux and Unix allow local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the DB2DIAG.LOG temporary file.
CVE-2008-4954 1 Fumitoshi Ukai 1 Fml 2026-04-23 N/A
mead.pl in fml 4.0.3 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/debugbuf temporary file.
CVE-2008-4975 1 Debian 1 Newsgate 2026-04-23 N/A
mkmailpost in newsgate 1.6 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on a /tmp/mmp##### temporary file.
CVE-2007-3742 1 Apple 2 Iphone, Safari 2026-04-23 N/A
WebKit in Apple Safari 3 Beta before Update 3.0.3, and iPhone before 1.0.1, does not properly handle the interaction between International Domain Name (IDN) support and Unicode fonts, which allows remote attackers to create a URL containing "look-alike characters" (homographs) and possibly perform phishing attacks.
CVE-2007-4998 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-23 N/A
cp, when running with an option to preserve symlinks on multiple OSes, allows local, user-assisted attackers to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack using crafted directories containing multiple source files that are copied to the same destination.
CVE-2007-5940 1 Tug 1 Texlive 2007 2026-04-23 N/A
feynmf.pl in feynmf 1.08, as used in TeXLive 2007, allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files and execute arbitrary code via a symlink attack on the feynmf$$.pl temporary file.
CVE-2007-6061 1 Audacityteam 1 Audacity 2026-04-23 N/A
Audacity 1.3.2 creates a temporary directory with a predictable name without checking for previous existence of that directory, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (recording deadlock) by creating the directory before Audacity is run. NOTE: this issue can be leveraged to delete arbitrary files or directories via a symlink attack.
CVE-2008-0163 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-04-23 N/A
Linux kernel 2.6, when using vservers, allows local users to access resources of other vservers via a symlink attack in /proc.
CVE-2008-0167 2 Debian, Gforge 2 Debian Linux, Gforge 2026-04-23 N/A
The write_array_file function in utils/include.pl in GForge 4.5.14 updates configuration files by truncating them to zero length and then writing new data, which might allow attackers to bypass intended access restrictions or have unspecified other impact in opportunistic circumstances.
CVE-2008-0806 1 Paul Pelzl 1 Wyrd 2026-04-23 N/A
wyrd 1.4.3b allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the wyrd-tmp.[USERID] temporary file.
CVE-2008-0870 2 Bea Systems, Oracle 2 Weblogic Portal, Weblogic Portal 2026-04-23 N/A
BEA WebLogic Portal 10.0 and 9.2 through Maintenance Pack 2, under certain circumstances, can redirect a user from the https:// URI for the Portal Administration Console to an http URI, which allows remote attackers to sniff the session.
